How to Plan a Golden-Hour Ceremony

Planning a ceremony around the light sounds fussy until you have watched it work. Golden hour buys you roughly forty minutes where every face looks kind — the rest is just protecting that window from the schedule.

Start with sunset, not with the venue’s preferred time. Work backwards: ceremony ends twenty minutes before golden hour begins, portraits happen inside it, reception starts as the light fades. Everything else — hair, transport, the toast order — bends around that anchor, not the other way round.
